Triad Miatas was founded by several people who owned and loved their little 2 seater sportscars.  

In 2006, they held the first Miatas at Myrtle Beach, initially as a way for folks to get together and knock the dust off their convertibles after Winter.

I'm sure someone else has some history to tell.
